Photographing Frogs

May 3rd, 2008 Posted in life

Long time readers might remember when I posted about one of my photos being up for an inclusion in an online guide to Australia.  Last night I received an email from the makers of the guide and my photo has been accepted for inclusion.   You can see my lovely photo in the guide here.

I find the whole thing hysterically funny.  The photo was just a random snap taken on my mobile phone.  I don’t even think it is that good, but obviously someone out there likes it.  Maybe I should go around photographing random fountain sculptures more often, who knows what might happen.

schmap used a photo i took at the melbourne zoo a couple years ago of a red panda. it wasn’t even close to being the best photo i’d taken that day and uploaded to flickr. when i looked at the schmap site before my photo was added i noticed my photo was replacing a very similar one someone else had taken. when i looked today, my photo has been replaced by another red panda shot (that is definitely better than mine was).
somebody at schmap must be just constantly browsing thru flickr photos to use
i like your frog photo 8)

Shawna: Schmap do like using the Flicker photos. Thanks to the Creative Commons license, they do not need to pay royalties, so it is a very cheap way for them to get images.

Bello: Thanks. I must admit I am quite enjoying this week.
