Blogging From The Doldrums

April 22nd, 2008 Posted in life

For the past two days I have been really flat, just blah.  I am feeling melancholy, although I have nothing to be sad about at all.  A general malaise has descended upon me.  I am wondering if it is because it has been cloudy and raining for over a week and I have missed quite a few morning walks because of this damn weather.

Anyway, I am in desperate need of cheering up to get me back into my normal cheerful frame of mind.  Either that or some bloody sunshine sometime soon.  If you have either sunshine or something you think will cheer me up, please send it my way.

How are things going, luv? Feeling better at all?

I wish I had a solution, or even a cheer-up. Dilbert sometimes works temporarily for me. Well, him and Joan Jett ;-)

I hope you get some sunshine soon! If not, take a wander up here to QLD and hunt some down!

Sounds like you need to get a sun lamp for when the going gets cloudy. You just sit in front of te lamp for a bit and cheer yourself right up!

Naomi: I am feeling a bit better today, but am seriously thinking about coming up to QLD and stealing your sunshine. You guys get way too much of it. :)

Amy: Here in Sydney we tend to have very sunny winters, nothing like the dark, cold winters of the northern hemisphere, therefore, I don’t even think any stores sell sun lamps. I just need QLD to stop stealing our sun.

Hi Riayn, Tom Suters here. I last saw you at the Sydney Bloggers Meetup at the Star Bar a few weeks ago. I mentioned I had a blog site, but then with nothing on it. Well now I have some posts and ironed out the problems I talked about. Only a dozen posts so far but I added half a dozen pages for Videos, Who’s on First by Abbott and Costello, some tech comedy and Tai Chi - formerly my favourite exercise regime. I can’t figure out how to post my two dozen holiday reports. Each is at least 10 x A4 pages. I guess I’ll have to get a proper website?

Anyway I see you have gone to Wordpress.org. I see how it is possible to add heaps of features. However I am not a fan of the black background. Its a little hard to read. Yes I know Google are now trying to push it as it reduce greenhouse gases as the screen is not transmitting as much light therefore less power needed. What bunk. New lcd monitors use the same power regardless of what the pixel colours are. Cathode Ray tubes certainly use less power with dark text or a dark screensaver.

Anyway I’m not receiving too many hits, so I posted my URL on Aussie Bloggers. But I was never much good at self promotion. Even my cousins have not written back to say Oh WOW That’s fantastic… keep the posts coming. Nada!

Sorry to see you in the Doldrums. 14 days is a bit too long a stretch without Vitamin D. I still prefer a 7 km walk in the sunshine to a treadmill.
